Sweet ride and i loved my 78 GL.
what i liked best was tubeless tires and the instruments , Udungood!

I try not to ride too often at night but I noticed these gauges are horribly dim. I'm sure they are the original bulbs so I'll probably try to get new ones and see if that makes a difference before trying something else.

I actually took it as a sign that it really needed to be in your hands Dwight. 

It would be a nice one to have no doubt, but I'm maxed out space wise and the Hall motorcycle account is running just about on E right now and just don't have the extra funds and on top of that the shipping cost from Colorado to North Carolina.

I got a call this morning on the bike. Guy asks if I'm the one selling the super clean Goldwing. I say yes. He then says, "Hey listen...I've got a bike I'm trying to sell. Would you be interested in buying it?" 

Another caller asked if I was the original owner. That's the only question he asked. I said no sir. He said...Ok let me think on it.   

I've had three calls on it today. One was decent. We'll see if the guy wants to meet up.

I got 5 calls on the bike this weekend. It just went home with its new owner. I'm thrilled. This is really going to allow me to get some bigger ticket items done on the 550 project over the long winter.

It was a little weird. The guys wife actually called me yesterday and said that her husband had a Honda Shadow but they were looking for something bigger and more comfortable. I said, "Well this thing's bigger." They came over this morning and wanted to take it for a ride. As they took off I thought, "Man....that thing is big." I'm super glad it's gone but...yes...I had a hint of emotions watching him ride it out of my garage. It would have been cool and I know my friend would have appreciated it if I had kept it for many many years but it just wasn't something I wanted.

And the emotions quickly faded when I looked at the wad of cash in my hand and Heather high fived me.

.  The 78 has the red needles in the gauges, they are nearly impossible to see at night. My 79 has white needles and it's way better.
