I landed a K1 750, now I've bought 9 cb750's this month.
« on: September 19, 2016, 08:04:38 pm »
There was a 750 in a nearby craigslist and someone shared it to a cb750 facebook page. We were gone dragracing but was able to get first in line to buy it. I saw the ad, sent a text, later called and bought it this morning. The seller later had to turn off his phone after some folks began to bid more money on it. He had integrity and stuck to the deal.
I'm trying to upload a pic to photobucket now.

As you can see, I removed the rack and tossed it before washing or unloading. It came with a wixom fairing too, wahoo! I could make a short windscreen and look like a new Harley. (kidding) A bath showed the paint damage on left side of the tank was most likely from something spilled on it and probably isn't a pinhole leak.
It needs a #2 exhaust and #4 probably can be patched on the bottom.  I never bought one with a stock exhaust before. It's unusual around here.  The carbs are stuck and something is broken in the linkage near the cable connection.  the motor is free and most of the chrome is nice except where the mice peed on the back fender while munching on the seat.

Sweet!
Funny how the K1's and K2's over here have the earlier type tail light on them (no angled bracket going toward the front of the bike).

Looks like she has good bones, Congrats  Are those HM341 pipes, they look like they have the diffuser caps rather than the baffle with the bar running down the center.

I've been lucky enough to find some nice fixer uppers cheap. Since Larry asked, I recently sold a 74, 2 400F's and a cl100 and bought 2 750's from my brother, the FnK 77 and a chopper style 72 that's almost back to stock now.  The list is now a 69, 70, 71, 72, 72 drag bike 77 FnK and the 79 elcheapo goldwingo.
The 69 and 70 are my keeper bikes.

I just got a call, more 750's to look at. Not good condition but stored in a shed and something about stock ehxaust. it pays to talk to people and show them that you have some cb's. I met this guy last summer at a swap meet.

So Eric cleaned the 750's out of Michigan and now Don is clearing out east central Illinois and parts of Iowa.

Out of 13, I'm keeping only 4 so I can spread out the happiness. I'll have titles for all but the K1 and that is pending.

Guy called me about a Planet Blue 1975 750 I am going to take a peek at Wednesday I think and have a $100.00 deposit down on a Valley Green 1971 750 from another gentleman when he can get it out of his pole barn. He  has at least 5 other bikes also, another 1973 750, an orange 550, 2 1972 yellow Suzuki RV125's and an early Honda 90 I may dicker on, so there is still tons of stuff out here for all of us  ;)
Looking forward to see pictures of your new horde Don.

I'm a fan of planet blue, and a green one won the bike show at Davenport over labor day week. I don't see the green very often.  My guy has a wing also and is moving I may make an offer on his goldwing too. I have an aquaintance that's interested in my entire horde.
