Yessiree well done snagging those pipes. They are indeed an attractive option, now you'll have to start thinking about baffling!  ;D Can you give me an accurate weight on those babies please?

To answer a few questions about the exhaust, both from here and from several PM's I've received.

 * They are handmade by a guy in Spain. I contacted Enrique Martinez from the Benelli Club of Spain about them, since they're used on the Benelli Quattro and that bike is a close replica of the Honda 500/550. They're also called Pasolini Replica pipes, after the Benelli factory racer.

 * They are available for the 750 as well, both SOHC and DOHC.

 * They are expensive, but really not much more than a set of replica stock pipes from DSS, etc.

 * They are LIGHT. Mine are still wrapped in foam and bubble wrap, but taking one header and one muffler and standing on the bathroom scale, they weigh only 5.8 lbs. per pipe! We're talking less than 25 pounds for the whole exhaust system. I do not know what material they are made of.

 * They ARE baffled and the baffles are removable. A quote from our correspondence:  "The megaphones are homologated for a 102 dBA (a Harley is 108 dBA homologated in Spain). Full open is very VERY loud sound! around 140dBA." Obviously, I have not ran them yet.

 * I placed a deposit for half back in December and paid the remainder, plus shipping costs, about two weeks ago. They were on my doorstep in less than four days after final payment. Enrique has been a JOY to deal with.

Do you not know whether they are stainless or simply mild steel? Are they ferrous? That would be an indicator  ;)

 From Enrique:

 "Hi Scott:
YES, we´ve selected a vey light calibrated steel sheet to made our megaphones. But the best is the sound when runs full open, with no internal licenser, just for racing use. When the tacho needle reachs 6.500-7.000 the sound change to remember the Agostini, Mike Hailwood and Paolini races in ´60 G.P.. It´s a very exciting music.
Your friend Donald Leonhardt has send me an e-mail asking info and contact about the pipes. Thank you for your help with your positive comments in the SOHC´s forum.

Well done Scott. Stock pipes are likely 9 lbs each? 102db isn't quiet by any means but they may be fine. Do yourself a favour though, save up to have them coated.

Picked up a set of genuine 400F bars at Barber. Installed new RH and LH controls, throttle cable and my favorite Pro-Grips.

Yep...the 714's go on almost all my builds. Feel great and still look vintage enough.

No... I'm assuming you mean Emgo (?) ?? I've used them before with zero issues. I actually have a decent set of originals from the donor bike in this thread, but I'm trying to do stuff "one step above" on this build and these are affordable and work great, so I pulled the trigger.

Looking great! Glad you pulled the trigger on those pipes man!

Me, too! I dropped them off for ceramic coating the other day. Two different processes; one on the inside and a "velvet" black finish on the outside.

I'm so stoked on this build. I'm chomping at the bit to get the frame back so I can move forward. I'm just looking for stuff to do around here until then.

The head is going to the machine shop on Monday. I'll be dropping off a couple of things at the chrome shop next week, after we return from a short vacation.
