So, where does the exhaust exit, it appears your radiator would be blocking it, were it a sohc4.

It's behind the radiator. You can kinda see it here

Lol. There are only a handful of big things left to complete.  I'm sending out the tank to be fitted with the fuel pump this week. The offset sprocket should arrive shortly allowing me to weld in the chain roller. I need to make 2 plates for the 1 remaining motor mount, and I need to source metric tubing for the exhaust. I'm very undecided on what muffler I want, but I will likely go with a cone engineering setup of some kind. Since I need these welds to be flawless, I will tack up all the stainless with my mig, but will have a local guy tig it for me. If I only had a damn tig machine I'd just do it myself. Migging stainless with Flux core wire is a pain!

Wonder what the Delkevic mufflers would be like on it?  Light stainless design and whole system for 750/550 is inexpensive...
It would not be quiet I am sure...

The oil pan came out really nice.  Had a shop been charging that would have been an expensive custom piece.  Don't neglect insuring the bike for its value and a good appraisal by someone who know the effort and cost of builds and replacing same needs to be your appraiser.

Bet you are eager to throw a leg over her and go for a ride.

Haha I can't imagine what it would have cost. Wait til you see the other parts he is 3d printing and laser cutting for me.  If any of you ever need any stuff like that pm me, I will put you in touch with him.

As far as exhaust, I had a crazy idea I may try to do. Rather than buy a muffler, I may just make one but it will be more of the exhaust box look, by having a complex shape on the outside made up of a bunch of Lazer cut panels, but inside it's just a muffler. I like this idea because i've yet to hear an exhaust on this motor that I like, and since I'm not running a cat I have no idea what to expect. This gives me a lot of room to tune the sound should I desire and I could even chamber it if need be.

Well we are getting closer. Got the chain region all wrapped up today, well minus a spacer or two. And look, a skateboard wheel!

Interesting improvised tensioner.  It should work and you'll have plenty of spares available if it wears down.

That would be a twofer, 4 rollers for the chain and a seat pan out of one skate board! :D

Lol I can't take credit, I have seen it done before and bought it as a kit. The only diffefence is I modified it to be used just to help route the chain and provide clearance. The chain still gets adjusted at the axle.

Currently doing the 2 into 1 y pipe, never did this before, took a little trial and error to make a plan. I'm waiting on the muffler before I go much further.

Does the stock Honda motor/ECU/wire harness use a A/F sensor, too? If so, are you going to weld a bung for it or bypass it?

I haven't decided yet. If I can bypass it I will most likely. 1 less wire.

Still, it would be nice if you could get someone to jailbreak that CB500F ecu and unlock all of the hp and torque in that motor. I am not sure if you would need that AF sensor to do that properly.

Tuning it isn't an issue at all. I can opt to weld in the bung and throw a bolt in it where it would t be seen. I've done that on a few bikes. Since this bike is officially going to be used for shows, I don't know how insanely aggressive I need to be. At least for the next year, it won't be ridden. I already have it set to be in the progressive NYC international show at the Javits center, and I'm trying for a few invitational shows.

Here's a good one. So the chain kept trying to derail on me and I couldn't figure out why. I mean I went nuts looking. Broke out a micrometer and measured it all, and it's almost perfect, and way better than a stock bike. Still couldn't find it. 3 hours I looked, and a buddy of mine comes over and figures it out in 5 minutes. The skateboard wheel is too narrow and the chain is flopping over it. Wider wheel and problem fixed, hahaha. What a pain!

Lol you can make it run fine without it. Little 02 simulator and youre good.
