Awesome programmable ignition for 130 euros...
« on: October 18, 2016, 05:10:46 am »
http://www.ignitech.cz/en/vyrobky/tcip/tcip.htm

These ignitions are a fraction of the price of the Dyna's and you can program EVERYTHING.
Just download the software of the page and you can see it for yourself...

-Ignition advance table vs rpm & Pressure
-or Ignition advance vs Intake and TPS for non-turbo bikes
-Rev limiter
-Switched retard or quickshift
-3D map
Etc etc..

I've ordered one for the CB turbo..  8)

P.S: Beware, you need to modify the crank pulse sensors and pulse rotor to a later style ignition... of an 1985+ Honda/Kawasaki/Suzuki/Yamaha bike or something. Quite easy to do but offcourse not included.

Wow, this opens up a whole new avenue for me in terms of drag racing use. Possible air shifter ignition kill, retard for nitrous and other useable parameters. I'm wondering if the ignition retard function is progressive and can be staged.

At the current exchange rate that $130 euro's is about $144us. Not sure of the shipping cost but it seems worthwhile nonetheless.

Yes for me its perfect as I have a CB with turbo.. and around peak torque already at 5500-6500 rpm it tends to detonate a bit at 15psi. It needs way less ignition but all the aftermarket ignitions are still at 25-30 degrees, unless I set base timing at TDC....which sucks.

If you look at this picture you can see that you can program the ignition value as a function of RPM and IAP(Intake absolute Pressure) in KPa (Kilo Pascal pressure) which means your boost.

So this means your retard is determined by the amount of pressure/ boost measure by the pressure sensor (Kpa).  8)

You can select wether you want IAP+RPM or TPS+RPM or just RPM.

Next to that you can also just retard a preset fixed value by activating an imput to the ignition.

Since drag racing is a wide open throttle sport from starting line to the traps, rpm based retard would not be practical. However, using simple timers to mimic  a booster controller signal throughout the run might be something to consider. Using a progressive nitrous controller you would want to be able to also progressively or by stages, retard the timing in proportion to the amount of nitrous oxide being sprayed to avoid detonation. Same principle as the needs of a turbo but you won't have a vacuum/boost signal to reference. This opens up inexpensive possibilities no doubt.

Used one of these ignitions for several years on my CB350K4 Honda race bike without any problems, going to fit one to my CR750 replica for next season (hopefully).

I'm using a pickup of a gpz600..or kz550.. dont remember because I had both of them.
I think they were the same and were used on almost all bikes past 1984. :)

Rotor is modded onto the stock cb750 advancer with some lathe work.

I used one of Ignitech's pick ups, I'll have a look at their website to try to identify which one and get back to you.

I used their S01 inductive pick up with their pulse rotor which has 5 single and one double pulse per revolution (pic on website).
