I spent today laying fiberglass. I have 5 layers of woven fiberglass. I will pop the mold tomorrow and clean it up. It should be good and strong.

Ok so the seat pan is done. I finished trimming it and dropped it off at an upholstery shop today. It's going to cost a little more than I expected but the shop is highly recommended and produces quality work. I'm excited to see how it turns out. I've never had a real seat on this bike and this is also the last piece of the puzzle for Phase II of this bike.

I also picked up some cool finned covers off my friend Ted (Ricky_racer). He has tons of really cool parts (unobtainium) for these bikes that are for sale. Shoot him a pm or email with your needs.

So yeah, on with the pics... haha

Ted has a treasure trove of goodies.  A regular Bill Benton of Southern California.

Update: The seat is back from Mark Luhr. http://www.customupholstery.net/
He did an amazing job and is a real craftsman. Not cheap but very nice quality and worked with me the entire time to ensure that I would be happy with the finished product.

A couple pics attached. It's almost time for glamor shots. I have to ride it and find a good background.

Some Moose Racing plugs and a Pingel Power-Flo petcock. Anybody ever use these plugs? They came from Cognito Moto.

So the first test ride went sorta well. The new rear shocks ride much better than the #$%*ty emgos it had. She ran like a scalded dog!
 
That is until an intermittent ignition problem reared its ugly head again. I think either the dyna s has taken a #$%* or my coils are on their way out. Seems to run great until it gets warm and then it starts missing real bad. Sometimes it'll pick right up and start hauling ass again, othertimes not so much.

Anyone have some coils laying around so I can test my theory?

The seat looks great.

Make sure to check your wiring to the coils and move the wires as you test to make sure there are no internal breaks in the wires.

Thanks man!

I replaced the harness but not the little wires on the coils. When it started missing I also lost my tach. I'm tied into yellow wire for tach reference.

Sounds more like a loose power or ground connection than a bad coil/igntion plate.

It was a faulting pickup on one side of the Dyna-s ignition. I replaced it with another used Dyna-s and all is well.

This project bike is completed. I need to take it out somewhere scenic and get some glamour shots.

It seems these types of bikes are never quite complete...

So the bike has gotten some upgrades lately. I replaced the head with a ported and done up for race unit. The other head was having some issues with exhaust valve guides and burning oil. I also threw on a set of PD42 carbs with new cables and pods. The carbs were jetted with 42/130 jets and a .020" shim on the needle. Its a little fat up top right now. Haven't had the motivation to put the 125 or 128 main jets in.

Otherwise, the bike runs quite well now. It will only get better with more carb tuning. I also installed a cam that was slightly used and stamped CRANE H284.

I took it for a ride the other day and my buddy hopped on for a spin around the block. Thought I might take a few pics out in the sunlight.
