We’re about to get more. Filled up the generator and extra jugs today. There is a silver lining. Spent an extra long weekend (Monday was “Family Day” in Canada) with both my kids, their spouses and three great g’kids at a lovely cottage, N.E. of Halliburton, Ontario. We all skied for +4 days at “Sir Sam’s”. They’ve all been at it for years, two were instructors. Hard work, but we keep up.

My three favourite places are: strapped into a race car, with the visor down. Riding my K1, with the visor down. Skiing with Family (with the googles down). So blessed to be still able to do all three!

Bravo on all 3!
I had to give up on the skiing some decades ago, still miss the fun. In the Spring, skiing in the Rockies is an unparalleled experience.

Vail has always been my Fav, the "Back Bowls" are like no other ski resort in North America.  The pedestrian-only village is very unique as well.
My cousin worked there in her single days, she was an expert skier, loved skiing with her as well as enjoying the après ski activities!

My car is growing teeth !    Been raining a lot today and coming down hard now at around 5:00pm. Hate ice storms but the good thing is the temp right now is 32 so not instantly freezing on things as we head towards dark. Generator on stand-by though as we lose power a lot where I live. - GRRRR

Eric - are you there?!  Jackson, MI made national news about the freezing rain, I know you are not that far from there.

Wilbur - was 91F here yesterday too!  Too hot, too soon, it's still winter. 
But we had a "cold front" come through overnight, only going up to 79!

Too heavy a cable for phone, I would wager that’s the power line…
Dealt with lots of ice storms in Dayton, OH in winter of 08-09 and it was too many… Dayton was in a transition zone on most winter snow storms for some reason so ice storms were way too common.
Having to scrape and chip your way into your car spending 30 minutes to do was not my idea of fun…
Work rarely sent you home when we were having snow storms with ice and expected you to be on time or there was hell to pay. Fing worse job of all time…there was a reason I pulled the rip cord after 5 months…

Best to have car in garage.
Remote start is helpful to unfreeze car doors.
My 16 yr old Impala has a tire code in (needs new sensors $200) which disables the remote start. It gets the garage just now.

Be careful out there, sadly folks get electrocuted nosing around after storms, low hanging wire, fences energized, cable and phone lines energized.
Hazards abound, dangling branches, slip and fall.
Running home generator in an enclosed area.

Yep its the telephone and cable wires. They run to the house directly under the power line. Not sure how the heck they got snagged down with falling branches but the power line was spared.  And to answer another question YES the wife wishes she was still in Florida. 82 and sunny yesterday according to a friend who was rubbing it in on her.

Quite the drift. Few national parks here in the west got hammered by recent snowstorms with snow measured in feet like you got. We had 2 inches or so around town the morning of the 2nd with it mostly melted by late afternoon. Was 78f this afternoon.

March keeps rolling in like a lion. Hopefully will see that cute little furry lamb one of these days. Looks like I'll be takin' a 'ride' on the snowblower this morning again. Lost power AGAIN last night but back on at 8:00am so with fresh coffee I will call that a win !!

The Global warming is based on a date that is fairly recently and it is a fallacy. They were crying about us headed into another ice age back in the 70s as annually the temps had been dropping year over year for several years in a row and we were having hard winters.

Drought of the dust bowl period in America...so what were they saying and predicting during that time?

The weather is cyclical...just another cycle. Maybe man is causing some increase in temps, but it isn't something that is going to be runaway temps.
If the polar ice caps melt the land masses will see large scale flooding and low lying states like Florida will be underwater and uninhabitable. Florida is just one state that will be that way. Large swaths of land in coastal areas will be beneath the waves. Banks are still writing titles and selling of land and nothing about catastrophe if that succumbed to flooding is getting written into those titles giving them an out and keeping the people buying in the hook. That's what they do.

the whole push to drop internal combustion engines is a money grab in my opinion.


Sorry for the rant... Just my BS intake is getting exceeded lately.

Hope the snow doesn't affect you guys too negatively, we are headed to 82f this afternoon...March 2nd it was freezing cold weather here in the desert and we had snow. Just the weather, if you don't like it wait an hour it will be different.

Poppies and Bristlebrush are blooming here, poppies started blooming in Picture Rocks pass, started at Picacho Peak about 3 weeks ago... Northern AZ wildflowers will start blooming in couple weeks.

Yep - luckily this time of year for the most part it melts off pretty quick. 33 right now and no major warm-up in the near future, high 30's for awhile but I can roll with that.
