Ok.... so I have to replace the original tires on this bike.  The tread is good but the rubber compound is way too hard to ride safely.

I have Dunlop K70's on the 1976 CB550 and the 1973 CB750.  I like the 'vintage' style of these tires; however, I can not find an 18 inch K70 front tire.

Any other suggestions for the 'vintage' look?

It is a 1977 CB400F with the foot pegs, shifter and brake pedal in the forward position.  If anyone has the peg configuration from earlier years I would love to purchase them.

As well as the brake pedal you'll also need the shaft it operates on, as the splines are different between the US 77 model and earlier models.

As for tyres, I'd forget going for looks and just buy Avon AM26s, they're the best tyre by miles that I've found for a 400f.

I believe IRC GS-11AW tires have the look you want and should still make an 18" front.
75' CB400F/'bunch o' parts' & 81' CB125S modded to a 'CB200S'
I love the small ones too !

BMann, keep moo ving along... we don't need that poseur advice given to this guy for his cb400, this is Not JWild with his 85mph 350 in 3rd gear...

Please do not buy Firestone, throwing good money down the drain.  The IRC tires are decent but if you are going to push this bike in performance you want a modern sticky tire to keep everything right side up...

I still ride the same type Metzelers as I did in the seventies (on my cb400), manufactured in 2014.

I was poking fun at the trend  :o

I get my ass kicked by guys riding on Avons.

I had gs-11's until recently.  They were a (comparatively) long lasting tire.  That came with a sacrifice though.  There has been a contrast to new spitfire s11's.
