Hello all.
I purchased a 1975 CB750K and plan to build a café. It will be something that I think would have been a cool racer "back-in-the-day".
It was purchased from a guy that lives 1 hour north of Ottawa. He had it as a parts bike for his daily rider (a '70 in horrible shape!!). He had ridden the '70 since he bought it in '72. He got the bike I purchased about 15 years ago as a non runner. It's missing a few parts but nothing that I will be using. The bike is in nice shape as far as rust and corrosion. The engine turns freely and leaks good, which is surprising given the length of time it's been sitting.
The build will consist of a stock tank, 900 Kawasaki tail faring, clip-ons, rear sets, 4 into 1 header, a reinforced swingarm, a "few" lightening holes, and a stock style paint job with the "stripe" carrying over onto the seat fairing.
I have not done a bike build like this before but have been around other stuff for a while. In the late 70's in was into NHRA drag racing ('64 Plymouth SS/D). In the 80's I raced motocross (mostly Hondas) and road bicycles. Through those times I built and modified hotrods and muscle cars. Lately (last 12 years) I've been Land Speed Racing - a car not a bike!
I did not get much done when I first got it but I am working on it pretty steadily as of late.
This seems to be a great site with some really talented and knowledgeable people.
I look forward to tapping that know how.
