Okay, it looks like Dave Barbier and Cam are well on their way.  CBGhia and Rustyolive are well ahead with their 650 drop-ins.  Hopefully, I can move along with Nick aka sinister902.

I think you will be ahead of Nick as well Don. He is still researching efi.

That is seriously rad, but seriously involved.  I would love to have an EFI classic bike, but the juice is not worth the squeeze.  I don't think you even make appreciable power gains.  You might gain some MPG but you also have to upgrade the charging system.  I know Nick is working on that, too!  I would dig it if he could find a turn-key solution for the charging system, so I could run some other things on the bike.

Thanks Dave. I was able to test fit the Kerker 4-2 exhaust and it fits like a glove on the 76 cb550 frame

Well, heck YES.  Looking good.

Cam, can you elaborate a little on your front fender.  It appears to be a custom piece in terms of both the fender and mount.

It looks like the stainless steel eBay one that is direct fit.

Progress report.
Installed the new charging system(rotor, stator, and brushes) neutral and oil switch done, finished rear set
linkage and installed the exhaust. Kerker exhaust fits very nicely on the 76 cb550 frame, just need to reposition the kickstand mount slightly.

With modern paint it will not have that great color shift fading effect, given it was a two color application originally that yielded the look...

Nice work!

Not without chopping the frame up, Don. There just isn't any room on the 550 engine cradle. 650 motor plus 750 carbs plus 550 frame, I should have expected something not to work lol.
Yes using a motogadget and mlock.

Maybe a modified box into a single large filter.  I think Cameron Bateman did that on his Rusty Olive.  +1 on the Motogadget gear.
