Points assembly question
« on: February 25, 2017, 08:12:41 AM »
Hi all,
I have a completely stock 1975 CB 750 K5 and I'm about to buy a Toyo points assembly from Honda Parts House (Babbit's), but I wanted to make sure it'll work because it's listed as a 1977 part (that's as far back as they go). I'm assuming it's identical to my '75 set up. Am I right?
Thanks!
Steve

If you have a partsnumber, you can enter it here: http://www.motogrid.com/oempartfinder.htm?aribrand=HOM&arian=MOTORCYCLE then click <search> then click <select> and you'll have a list of all models that had that particular part.

Yes its the same part number. Here is another dealership I use for part numbers here in Michigan that also goes way back still to the earlier bikes. Babbits is in Muskegon Mi.. Paw Paw wants $90.15 for it.  http://shop.pawpawcycle.com/fiche_select.asp

Just checked and my local here in Kalamazoo can get it for $84.99. They go under the name cyclepartsnation. Luckily for me no shipping charges because I can pick it up at the store counter.  http://www.cyclepartsnation.com/oemparts/a/hon/506b8bdef870023420a1e8bc/points-advancer

I've been using them a lot lately.
They are a pretty friendly bunch down there. Zeigler recently bought the dealership but it has been in the biz for many years. They are moving a few miles away to a new complex on 3/6, supposed to be the largest motosports dealer in the region. Just talked to them this week and the 2 mile long moto x track is open along with other trails etc. Can buy a membership. Also adding a bar/brewpup next door that will be connected with an garage door, very unique. Get drunk and buy a bike !  http://www.mlive.com/business/west-michigan/index.ssf/2016/01/car_dealer_to_build_huge_atv_a.html

Hey, thanks to all of you for your input! I will look into those places instead of Babbit's.
