Hi folks anyone got any ideas fir this comes from oot carbs?
Just split mine and this wee fella fell oot

Me thinks like Scott. May I ask why you would want to split the carbs?

Aye there 550 carbs am polishing the bodies any more info as tae excavation location as there's only 1 so I'm puzzled

Good luck polishing. I don't know if you've owned your bike a long time, but be aware your carbs will be dirty again in no time as they're in some sort of vacuum behind the engine when riding and as most 500/550s tend to leak a bit of oil at the head gasket...

I think Scott is right.  Probably rests against one of the adjustment springs.

Now I know why previous owner had issues!
I hadn't pulled that apart!
Hence the flooding!

What model CB550 do you have? Or carbnumber? You can try by studying the diagrams but unfortunately Honda didn't describe a few tiny parts. I know, not much help, but if we know what type carbs you have, we can maybe narrow it down.

I have had that bit fall out when pulling a slide out to change the needle clip position. It goes in one of the 4 spring loaded canisters above the ball joint that you have to pull out to get the slide out. When it falls out or turns around the wrong way I glue it in the correct way up with a tiny dab of grease so it will stay put while putting the ball joint back in.
