Odd crank question

Is the small indented circle on the end of the crank mean or reference anything? This is on the points side.

The back side of the ignition advance assembly has a pin that fits into that hole, indexing the timing marks to the crank.

Well duh me. Forgot about that. Not using stock points and forgot about that. Pulled the assembly out of the part bin and my T mark lines right up with the index line (Working on setting TDC and degreeing the cam). This is a nice confirmation I was in the right spot.
