Yamiya fuel tank

I'm considering to buy a painted fuel tank from Yamiya
but I'm not sure about the fit. Is anyone have installed yamiya fuel tank?

The only complaints you can get is that it can look too good. The tank is the early version with old type of petcock (double piped) to be mounted on right side
You need a set with side covers with matching paint.

Petcock, fuel cap, honda badge on tank as side covers +  honda diamond with wings, the chomre plastic trim under tank must be bought too. It cost some but is worth it. I bought Yamiya  relplica Honda tank badges, I found Honda OEM side cover badges with diamond for not much more in Germany.
The replica diamond look cheap and cost not much less, the Honda initails are missing on replica version.
My Candy Sapphire Blu tank I have on now has Oem fuel cap.
I have bought a  complete fuel cap with everything, David silver replica setup for half price, now cost more but still much lower.

Why not a complete setup with tank, side covers, lamp holders.......painted air box too if K0.

It cost some, but if you like your bike you will love it later. I gave up financial mental sense, ordered their HM300 replicas too and other costly upgrades..... I love my bike and should not trade it for a brand new R1 or similar ;)

The Yamiya bodywork seems pricey at first glance, but not when you take into account stripping off your existing paint, body work/filler, prep, excellent correct color paint and finishing and a good condition gas tank and other body work. All packed nicely.

I'm cheap. I sent my 750KO PARTS (TANK, AIRBOX, SIDE PANŔLS, HEADLIGHT HSG AND HEADLIGHT HOLDER) to Ronnie Jennings in Tennessee for paint. Came out excellent. Candy apple.

Gosh, I feel pretty lucky as I have a guy who does my candy paint 5 miles from me. Matched the ruby red, candy gold and blue / green perfectly.

I think it's a fair deal if your parts are roached and you want a vintage stock color/decals.

Exactly. Especially in areas where good painters are hard to come by. My whole body set from Yamiya is flawless.

Yamiya body set is top notch so far as fit and finish. I was going to use my original tank but as I started peeling the onion it had a lot of issues. No regrets going with Yamiya repops.

There was some talk of the diamonds for the side covers. Do they only come in red and orange for the K6? I'm looking at painting my tank and side covers (I bought from that dude in Massachusetts that makes them) white Or cream white and was hoping for gold or yellow diamonds.

hey pewe, your post leads me to another question about the larger badge on the side covers, not the diamond.  although the orange ones i imagine would look good on white.  my side covers come from a guy highly recommended on here.  can't remember his name.  he's from massachusetts.  any how are there two versions of the larger badge?  one with a rectangle and one without?  i'm fairly sure mine are the ones without the rectangle behind the wording.  is the difference in those an indication of year or K#?
