Project Honda CB750 & Kawasaki Z900 Coffee Table

Probably sounds a bit whacky but I have decided to make a coffee table for the man cave out of old parts which I have been collecting for sometime now.
Managed to get lots of cheap usable bits, there will be no internal parts in these engines.
Not sure whether to do the engines silver with polished covers or paint them black with polished covers and if they are black I will sand the fins on these engines just to give them a good contrasting look.
Not sure on the configuration as yet whether to have the engines both facing forward or back to back.
I guess it will be a 1650cc coffee table :)

Here as some photos for starters

Sounds cool...I'm envisioning back to back with 4/4  head pipes cut off to be legs.  Might need a little pedestal hiding under the bottom to support the weight.
intrigued by the wail...seduced by the scream.

Decided to go with both engines facing forward as they seem to flow much better that way.
Started making the base for both engines to mount on to.
I will post some photos later of the progress

The CB750 cases look great from the outside but the threads for the crank bolts are almost gone due to corrosion as the engine being in water sometime in its life. Picked up the CB750 whole engine from a swap meet for $90 managed to salvage some parts that is why its going in the man cave as part of a coffee table.
As for the Z900 cases they have a few issues or I would have used them to rebuild and put in a frame for use again.... Unfortunately they will life the rest of their life on display and will look in great condition when this project is finished :)
No use throwing away these parts they will be put to good use but in another way.

This reminds me of the crushed 2010 Buell Blast becoming a coffee table base.

I would probably try connecting rods, cap removed for feet..bolt them to the motor mounts..

Managed to find some time to get back into building fabricating the coffee table.
The base has now been fabricated & the engine mounts are now made and welded onto the base so I am now able to install the engines so I can continue.
Fabricated the top section of the coffee table, next part will take some time to mock up so I can make the mounting points from the base to the top which will be made out of solid round bar.
Fabricated a T-section which will be the top section of the table using 2 different sizes of flat bar which will hold the glass in place so the engines are visible from the top also.
Both engines will not have any internal parts, top ends will be assembled on both engines.
All the engine covers will be installed and they will be highly polished.
Posted some more photos of the engines sort of assembled, also the top of the table is sitting on the floor to show the difference in size to the base which is 100mm x 150mm bigger in size.
Now I have to work out the bends for the round bar which will support the top of the table to the base.
