Main Berings: Should I Shouldn't I???
« on: April 16, 2017, 08:41:27 PM »
I think I know the answer but before spending a relatively lot of money thought I would ask those with more experience than me!

The photo is of the lower main bearings of my CB 500 K1. They are D2B A std shells.  Do I as a matter of course just change them?  Or measure the clearance using plastiguage.  Crank is clean as a whistle, measurements are spot on.

Many thanks

If you can I'd replace them and polish the crank a little. You could scotchbrite them and see if they clean up.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
