I am not too lazy or nervous to do it but as I wrote earlier, I only have about one hour a week to be with the bike.

Fuel level needs to be close to 3mm below the bowl gasket seam. 
If it is not, you'll run either rich or lean.  neither is good.
The only way to verify fuel level is to perform the clear tube test.
