Hello from Atlanta
« on: April 18, 2017, 06:37:46 AM »
Hi, folks

I bought an eBay '75 CB550K in January, my first Honda. I've been grafting away at it since then. Big thanks to all contributors to this site as it's been very helpful at dispelling some of my ignorance!

It turned into a bigger job than anticipated (common problem, I'd guess) since the bike had been left out in the rain, I think, and had had various parts removed and a few badly added. Such as the Goldwing cluster perched atop the forks but not wired-in.

The highlights of the build were

 - Completely stripped and powdercoated frame, fork clamps, swing arm, stands, rims and fender
 - New custom wiring loom with Motogadget switches and M-unit
 - Top end gaskets and seals
 - Dimecity cycles cafe racer cowling and with hoop welded at the back of the frame to match
 - New LED blinkers, tail and brake light
 - Mac 4into1 exhaust
 - New shocks and rebuilt forks with new tubes
 - Vapor blasted carbs and new internals
 - Dyna S ignition, new coils, plugs, leads and electronic reg/rec
 - pretty much everything replaced, cleaned or repaired!

It's hard to know when to stop, but i think it's pretty much finished. Just got a gas leak on one carb to address. Perhaps due to junk in the valve since I failed to coat the tank or realize the petcock is meant to have a fine screen on it before I ran it the first few miles. Live and learn

Anyway, attached is a picture and thanks again to all the members that keep this place such a great resource.

Welcome to sohc4 s and thanks for the intro and photos...
Is she done or more planned?
Should share a bit of the journey in photos in a thread for your bike in project bikes.
I am sure you've heard, pics or it didn't happen more than once here...
