Topic: Rear brake hub lining

Im new to the site and havent found my way around yet,so forgive me if this has been asked and answered but what to do with the brake lining in the rear hub? Is it possible to get a hub re-lined? I only saw a front hub listed on Dave Silvers are the rear available anywhere else?

Buy a used one. Many of us have spares if you opt to go that route.

Agreed, should be able to get a good used one somewhere. Also, this isn't the best forum for this question. The broader "SOHC /4 Bikes" or one of the classified forums might serve you better.

korosion behind the cast material..cracks the liner. or bearings crash the inner fitting..be shure to get a erly type hub..or a komplet hveel.(.there is 2 types of senter hub..erly and late to make it simpel..i got a vrong one shopping on e bay..)..
for test..i have turnet the cast material aut on my lathe..and got a nice smooth bored hole..the problem is to find a drumbrake from a small trailer..to turn dovn and heat the hub..and drop it inn..and vhen it cool dovn it holds(..like reaivay train hveels )..but better bay a used part..easyer and more safty

Common problem on 500 the hub change was in 77/78 so any 500 0r 550 k up to 76 should be ok and any complete wheel with brake panel can be made to fit by altering spacers either side
