I have a k5 750 that I suspect has mismatched clutch lifter components from a newer "improved clutch" that came after the k5.
model. The suspect parts are the 4 that comprise the lifter itself (ball bearing assy and both halves, and the adjuster bolt). My question is how to identify the newer components when compared to older ones. Are the differences visually apparent? The adjuster bolts are different in diameter by
about .025 by my ancient mic. I searched for this but couldn't find anything specific other than
part numbers of mentioned pieces being superceeded for the k7. I am certain there is a long thread about clutch
diagnosis that addresses this issue as well, but I can't find it. Not apart yet, but would help to know
what to look for. Any clues/advice welcome..thx
