Mid Pipe for 76 cb550
« on: June 03, 2017, 10:21:38 AM »
Mike here from Detroit, first time posting. I picked up a 76 CB500, with a 550 engine in it, last year. Spent a few weeks rebuilding the front end, carbs, and other tweaks to get her running good. Of course, she had cut pipes. I pickup up a mac header and looking to install an 18" quiet core from cone engineering. Anyone have feedback on the mid pipe? I realize now, I should have bought the whole mac muffler and hacked off the can, but live and learn. I know the process is custom but looking for info on the degree of mandrel bends and length of pipe. Attached are some pics of mock ups that I am attempting. Leaning more towards the straight, opposed to angled, look. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Hello from MN.

You might be better off posting your question on the technical page.

For a '76 bike the engine should be a 550 unless someone managed to put the 4 cylinder engine in the 2 cylinder 500 frame.
