New here. Just picked up a 1976 CB550. Last owner did a lot of the restoration but just got frustrated. It needs to be revisited especially in the low speed carburetor area. Looking forward to conversing with you and hope to get some ideas on problems as well as contributing to the disscusions.

Hello from MN.
Spark Caps are worth checking out. I had a lot of surging issues that I thought were related to the carb.

Welcome!
Always best to perform the 3,000 mile service when getting a new vintage bike. This will acquaint you with all the important systems, service them, and make your bike safer and more reliable. You can download a manual from this site too.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
