You're going to want a fork brace.
And don't ride in the rain. ;)

Why fork brace? I've put about 100 miles on it. 75-80 highway and no drama. I won't ride in rain on purpose.

Agree. I think any hot rod, custom bike and things like that are all about what that particular person digs. Isn't that the principal of these lifestyles. Taking the norm and personalizing? That being said if I made a asthetically pleasing bike to my liking that's unsafe, cool or not the fender is going back on! I really didn't consider the dynamics of the front end. Rookie!

The photo with the faring shows what looks like the original front fender cut down. I would imagine the bracket that's part of the fender that attaches to the forks would still act as a brace as per the original design?  I'm planning to do this on my build maybe with a bit if reinforcement welded in... comments by members appreciated

Correct it was original fender cut short. Attached at four points, two each side to forks. I ordered a fork brace regardless. If I decide to run fender I can or be safe without it. Thanks for heads up. That could have been ugly.

Yes, the fender does act as a fork brace and, imho, any bike should have some kind of fork brace.  :)

Hitting bumps in hard turn corners is where the fork brace proves its worth.  It is far more likely to stay pointed on your selected line.
