Hi,
I need some technical advice on how to fit a different swing arm and wheels to my CB750F Supersports. I have a swing arm from a GSXR600 that just about fits, the width at the swing arm spindle is the same as the standard swing arm but it will bind against the pillion peg hangers (that are going to go). The issue is that the swing arm spindle diameter is 25mm against 15mm for the standard spindle, what should I do to get this to fit?
Do I get a sleeve machines to fit around the standard spindle? Seems like a sensible suggestion but would this work? What does this mean for the bearings in the swing arm and what should the sleeve be made out of?
Or do I drill new holes for the larger spindle? There doesn't look to be enough "meat" on the frame brackets and they are pressed rather than being solid (at least that what it looks like) and I am concerned that they will not be strong enough. So the option looks to be to have new brackets machined and weld these to the frame?
What is the better option?
Similarly the wheels I want to use are from a Fireblade. They have the same spindle size as the CB750 (15mm) which is again smaller than the GSXR600 spindle diameter. What are my options to get this to fit?
