Hello from Fort Wayne, Indiana!  I have a 1980 CB 650 standard that I've had for a year and a half. I've been a member of the HondaCB650.com forum and the old 650 forum before that. I don't know why I haven't joined this one sooner, I've known about it for some time.
I just ordered a gasket set and plan on fixing a head leak on my bike this winter. Otherwise, the bike runs great, has a little over 13,000 miles on it. Last spring I took the fairing and hardbags off and have been riding it without them.

i never thought i'd say this but... those bags and fairing don't look half bad.  i'm still glad to hear they've been removed though  :D

I live in the Waynedale area. I moved here from Kendallville last May so I could be closer to the airport, where I work.

welcome. 

I did ride it for awhile with the fairing and bags. They were nice to have, the bags could hold quite a bit, and the fairing really cut back on the wind on the highway. But when I took them off, the bike felt so much lighter, and so much more fun, I doubt I'll put them back on.  ;D

I actually work at the Air National Guard base. I've been in since December of 2001, and a full timer for a year and a half. I do Aircrew Life Support, we take care of the pilot's flying gear and survival equipment, along with Aircrew training and other things.

I did find a picture of my bike without the bags and fairings. It's beside a 2005 Shadow Aero that belongs to my boss.
