Stock size for 78 550K Jets??
« on: June 03, 2005, 09:12:26 AM »
Anyone got it handy?.. I have looked through the parts manual... and greenspun, and here and... well I looked hard.

The guy I bought my bike from put pod filters on, (I realize why now after wrestling with a stock airbox) and want to know if he has up-jetted.

From previous posts I could find it seems like it's not clear cut whether I will need to up jet or not.  If anyone has exprience with this any help would be great.

Oh, and a big thank you to you all for being a great group of people to talk to!

main jet: 100

slow jet:40

float jet: 18

jet needle: D26

(K&L Kit)

the slow jet is smaller in size than the one currently in the carb body, although they are threaded and seat the same.

will these work in a cb 500K1 ?
...just when I was gettin fond of ordering stuff online...

From Page 61  Honda Shop Manual:

CB500K1-3 , 71-73  Carbs
Carb setup number 627B
Slow jet #40
Main jet  #100
Jet Needle and taper (Throttle valve) #2.5
Pilot screw opening  1 =/-  1/8
Air jet  #150
Float Height  22 mm (.89in.)

This will work fine for with the stock exhaust and air filter.
