This is what I use.
Conventional engine stand with adapters made from threaded rod and some bits of angle iron.
Best part is this configuration works with any engine.

I have a rotisserie style stand that I got from Amazon.

Not expensive, does the job - could be more sturdy, these engines are a bit too heavy for it.  But it allows firm mounting, rotation of the engine to any angle, and it's compact and easy to store when not in use.

I got this one for my 78 750K. I put it on a small table with casters I made. I have not had a 550 so I don't know if it wold work. But I would think they have one.
