Gearing between the 76 and later models
« on: August 30, 2017, 06:05:54 PM »
Did Honda change the gearing on the 77 model. I read somewhere that they did. My 76 has a 17 front sprocket and 48 rear, is this correct. Thanks, Jeff.

Yes. They made the F0 bikes and the F1 with the 530-size chains use the 17T front and 48T rear sprockets, same as was found on the late K0 and all K1 bikes.

Beginning with the K2, the front sprocket went to 18T, while the rear stayed at 48T. This made for nicer touring, but lowers the ET in a dragrace situation. If the bike is mostly in-town and freeway ridden, this is also a nice combination, making snappier 1-2 gear performance.
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.
