Help figuring out wheel size/compatibility
« on: October 09, 2017, 04:45:17 PM »
Hey all-

Currently restoring a 1982 CB650.  The rims and spokes on this bike are completely trashed and ruined, and I'd like to swap out comstar wheels.  However, wheel sizes/compatibility has always been something I've never understood.  I've searched and read a few topics about it but I couldn't find an answer.  This is an example of the type I'd like - http://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-Honda-CB650SC-Nighthawk-H1359-6-front-wheel-rim-19in-comstar-/352113899874?hash=item51fb9fb962:g:9RQAAOSwHLNZXqUI&vxp=mtr

and it's a 19" wheel like the spoked wheel I have, but I don't know about the width compatibility and all that.  If anyone could help point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Thank you

Update: Ordered this wheel, cuz all the sizing I could find is the same.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/192257878726

The only issue I could potentially see is it appears to be meant for a dual caliper/rotor setup, and also the spacing between forks may be an issue... if it fits, is there any issues running a comstar wheel with a single caliper?  Or, ideally, I just need a place to order new spokes.  I have had exactly zero luck finding spokes online except for the cheapo ones from Thailand.
