First off, your bike is a Dual Overhead Cam bike and this forum is mostly focused on Single Overhead Cam bikes. Plenty of folks here have both, and there’s commonality for some aspects. But the lion share of projects here are 1969-1978 Honda’s with a few early 80s 650s thrown in.
As for chopping your frame, the most significant consideration is the resulting clearance between th frame hoop, seat pan, and tire when the suspension is compressed. So don’t go nuts! Many of the bikes you see online are NOT good examples of well-built custom bikes. In fact, many perform worse than stock and are solely “aesthetic style” bikes.
And chipping your frame and welding on new tubing and shock mounts is best left to someone competent
