Just stumbled upon this innovation on youtube

Pretty cool design, I assume the kit includes block off plates for the oil inlets that would go to the stock oil tank?

I just keep thinking that if you have one these kits and a magneto, then your engine is almost completely self contained aside from fuel. Kinda neat...

I'll need to see a lot more than what's shown in that commercial before I can say if it's anything more than snake oil.  Yes, it's possible to eliminate the stock oil tank on the 750, but you have to make up for the volume somewhere else.

And I don't think you can just block off the oil ports unless they are diverted inside.

Sump extensions aren't new to CB750 guys who have been around for awhile, we had them "back in the day", but a 2 inch (+) sump extension like that one is gonna create a few problems with exhaust pipe fitment. No "off the shelf" 4 into 1 pipes will clear an extension that deep, so when you lengthen the headers so the collector fits underneath you'll have next to no ground clearance, and centre stand use will be a problem too.

Contrary to the advertising blurb, "centre of gravity" won't be affected that you'd actually notice, and it won't cool the oil as well as an external oil tank which carries the hot oil away from the engine, rather, it'll just be circulating around the engine, with no respite from the heat. No hate involved, I like shiny things, but they have to work at least as well as what came with the bike. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I thought the lack of an exhaust on the mock up was conspicuous. Using one of these would likely require a fully custom exhaust. The cooling could be resolved with an external cooler.

449 Euros!

I wonder if it creates heat issues, whereas the external oil tank allowed for some air cooling of the circulating oil.

I don't think there's a huge amount of cooling going on with the factory oil tank. Lines are effectively insulated, tank is smooth, covered, and out of the airflow. To test that theary one could ride it hard to get oil temp up then take temp readings at pan, oil filter, and tank/dipstick. I'd guess there's not a huge variation but of course I could be wrong.

Also, I'm wondering how the oil pump is driven with this extension. There are no idlers or anything like that shown. Nevermind I'm dumb, the pump mounts to the top of the extension piece and the pickup portion mounts to the bottom.

Regarding oil routing, the adapter/spacer between pump and pickup can just have a passage open from the tank pickup to the sump pickup before the screen and the return open to the sump. Passages to the outside of the engine may or may not be blocked off internally in the spacer, but of course must be blocked off external on the engine. Seems simple enough.

Neat, but I don't see the point aside from aesthetics.
