  Revelstoke BC... I was logging back then..
 I got up in the morning, made something to eat and was getting ready to go to work... it wascearly..like maybe 6 am..when I heard it on the radio. JOHN Lennon was dead... that was so effed up....and how he died!    it was like .. is it really true.. can it really be.. ?
 IS WAS LIKE THE WORLD CHANGED A BIT.......and as years went by, other bad stuff happened.. but now it seems, a lot more often..

I Live just outside of NYC. A friend of mine in the NYPD called me and said John Lennon was dead. I was stunned. He told me the Cops that responded knew it was him and they picked him up and put him in their car to save time. One cop carried him into the emergency room but it was too late. Even NYPD cops were fans since he was nice to them and quietly donated to some of their fundraisers.

I later put on the Double Fantasy album and the tears started to flow. When they had the Moments of Silence, I stopped in at a Church which is unlike me, but it felt right.   

I had some drivers at the federal courthouse and he was fighting deportation. They saw him every day and he would wave and say hello. Sometimes stop and bum a smoke. I did see him once there.

An amazing talent.

 I don't remember where but it was pretty F'N somber for a few days. It still makes me sad. Even my guitar tried to gently weep except I'm not talented enough or worthy.

  I was home, catching a buzz with my older brother, listening to the radio. The announcer broke in and very distraught broke the news.
   Went to the vigil in central park later that week. A sea of people. It was surreal when during the silent part of it all you heard was sobbing and helicopters overhead...Bob

      I remember when some things happened, what I was doing and so on. But, for the life of me, I don't remember the date, I just remember that, when I heard about John Lennon being shot & he had died and I just couldn't believe it had happened. And I thought back, remembering that I was in high school, when the Beatles made their debut. Can't remember if I was a Junior or Senior, but their music took off. Back when they were kicking out the records, really out there and all, I was a fan, for years & really enjoyed listening to their music.
Really too bad.

I was at work, at an Army reserve unit in Sydney. One of our reservists was working as a security guard and I was horrified that he'd brought in his S@W .357 Magnum handgun to show me, he was the last bloke I'd trust with a cannon like that, but as we were talking, the news that Lennon had been murdered came on, and everyone stopped talking, we were all shocked.

I'm a Beatles fan, and I always hoped that Paul and John would get over their differences and get the band back together, but that sad friendless fcuk put an end to that dream. Still, their music lives on.

I went and saw Paul McCartney at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane 3 weeks ago.
He spoke dearly of John Lennon including their times together during the very early days in Liverpool.
The nearly 50,000 strong crowd was silent as everybody listened, the stage lights dimmed momentarily and then Give Peace a Chance erupted and so did the people.
It was breathtaking stuff.

Then McCartney broke out into Hey Jude and I reckon that we sung NahNah NahNah Nah NahNah Nah about 77 fcuking times but it was good.
Without a doubt, John Lennon's spirit was alive that night.
