Star Wars vs. Star Trek
« on: January 02, 2007, 11:41:42 AM »
(This is older than dirt, but a buddy sent this along recently and I figured I'd share it. Besides, the humor section needs some fresh stuff..)

1. In the "Star Wars" universe, weapons are rarely (if ever) set on "stun".

2. The Enterprise needs a huge engine room with a matter/anti-matter unit and a crew of 20 just to go into warp drive - the Millennium Falcon goes into hyperdrive with R2-D2 and a Wookie.

3. After resisting the Imperial torture droid and Darth Vader, Princess Leia still looked fresh and desirable - after pithy Cardassian starvation/implant torture, Captain Picard looked like hell.

4. One word: Lightsabers.

5. Darth Vader could choke the entire Borg collective with one glance.

6. The Death Star doesn't care if a planet is class "M" or not.

7. Luke Skywalker is not obsessed with sleeping with every alien he encounters.

8. Jabba the Hutt would eat Harry Mudd for trying to cut in on his action.

9. The Federation would have to attempt to liberate any ship named "Slave 1".

10. Picard pilots the Enterprise through asteroid belts at one-quarter impulse power - in the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo floors it.

I concur. But ST still makes for interesting entertainment in all of its guises.

Star Trek had more hot chicks. That in itself is a reason to "Go where no man has gone before". Some may be green, but diversity can be a wonderful thing.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

st may have had more chicks, but sw has the force. The force allows you to influence weak minds! You can throw lightning bolts! you can stop lasers with your hands! yeah I never saw any of that in st. Besides sw fans dont fight about weather they are trekkies or trekkers! I mean how dumb is that!

I'd say they're all on the money, except they left this one out:

11. No aliens in Star Wars ask, "What is this 'kiss' that you speak of?"
