Snap-On Harley Davidson Diagnostics?
« on: January 19, 2018, 01:00:27 PM »
I have a Solus Edge with the newest software and it supports Harley Davidson but needs to a connector kit for an additional 695.00 in order to use it. I have an old VDSTS kit that I used with my Buell but it isn't supported with windows 7 and above.

Out of frustration I started to get a crazy idea. I have a bunhc of OBD1 connectors for my scanner and one of them is the Multi connector.

The snap-on kit looks like all it does is convert the OBD2 plug to the Deutsch connectors of which you will only use the smaller 4 pin one on the Sportster that is in question. As a matter of fact I am fairly certain thats all it does as the VDSTS used a serial connector to Deutsch.

Any thoughts on this? I hate to drop 700$ for some wires with adapted ends especially after the update was 700$.

I have no personal experience with it but it sounds right to me.

I'd look up the pinouts first, be a shame to toast it. I don't know the rig either. :(
