Testament to what Frank and Bill are accomplishing
« on: January 21, 2018, 12:39:38 PM »
You boys should receive an award just for this and what you are doing with these "old school" CB750's. You are only a HALF SECOND off these super bikes!! Kawasakii H2 and Lightning LS-218

Most of the way down the strip, the two beasts are at full sprint, both pulling maniacally toward 150 mph. The Lightning starts to run out of gearing with its 66-tooth rear sprocket, while the Kawasaki catches fifth gear, supercharger spinning at 120,000 rpm and singing its song. Nine-point-nine-four seconds after the start, the H2 has covered a quarter-mile and is traveling 148 mph. The Lightning is less than a hundredth of a second and 4 mph behind.

I received this in my mailbox today.

As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Amen Jerry : Frank's SOHC 750 up against the DOHC Super bikes of the 70-80's is the best that a Honda of old can still get the win tickets on the 1320'. Jerry on Craigs List in my neck of the woods a fellow has a 750 Honda with a FORD FLATHEAD in the rails, a Handy lift goes with the bike.....

Lol, here we go again,  327 cam and Carrillo time!

Glad to see someone is making progress. Should run a lot better once you get the right cam in there and the steel rods in place to get your deck height up a little. Maybe we'll see a 10.0? pass out of the old girl!!!

I'm in  holding pattern right now myself. Its a good thing I made a lot of progress on the project bike at the end of last year. Sciatica is holding me down a little right now from moving ahead on that one and I haven't touched the red bike yet. Its in need of a top, to bottom rebuild. Lots to do before I can go racing with a Honda but I've got lots of other bikes I can still race. Drag bike selection is not a problem around here. Lol.  Hoping to start picking at the project F this weekend. Basically reassembly after the powdercoating job, then a full custom race harness wiring job before I start back to building the engine.

As usual, it'll be crunch time to make the race.

We talked about the problem of points calculations 2 years ago but never followed through in contacting Man Cup. We vowed to take action this season and I was pleasantly surprised at how well our suggestion was received. Points will now begin once you win 2nd round instead of 3rd round. No longer will the 2 and,3rd round looser go home with the same points. This could be a game changer in the overall standings this year as it brings parity to round winners instead of penalty. Goes to show, if you sit back and complain among the masses, sometimes those in charge never know what you're thinking and that you might not be satisfied. Speak up and be heard by the right people if you want something done.

What do you get for being #1 in points = money ? Number plate for bike ? Leather coat with MAN CUP on back and your name and number ? It pays to advertise at you local track that you travel to these events in your days on the road trying for that win TICKET. I still have my #9 plate that Ol TONY LEE [ IDBA] gave me years ago at the World Finals in Memphis ...... his daughter gave me " The MAX IDBA " ADWARD in 2000 and I gave BRANDI [ Drag bike.COM OWNER ] the crew person of the year award at the same dinner, my how time flies by.
