I know it has been some time but that bike brings back so many memories. I rode mine home after I got out of the Navy, San Diego to Florence Al. I three days something over 600mi per day.

Like said before, its only original once. The 98 point restos are great, but the nicer, more valuable they are, the less you tend to ride them. Afraid of breaking or scratching something. If mine, id paint the tank and sides, and clean, clean, clean. The scratches and bumps are badges of your memories.  Once repaired they are gone. Paint it back original color, and ride it like you stole it (in another country)!
Just my 2 cents.
Ps-I have a couple of classic cars, one restored kinda slick, the other kinda ratty, faded, and dinged. The second gets driven WAY more, I let the kids eat in the back seat, I get in it with muddy shoes on, and I don't spend a half of day cleaning, before I go for a drive.

Very GOOD advice from 1976cb750f836........ I have a perfect K0 and he’s right. It will never/rarely get fired up. My ratty K3 gets ridden every day! Clean it up a bit and enjoy it! What great history!
