I'm done my rebuild ('78 750K), and I kept just about everything that looked remotely serviceable -- for example I rebuilt the hydraulics and replaced the brake line, but kept all the seals that weren't torn up and the old line.

I have all cables, an old harness (untested, I bought a new one because it was cheap) original coils with wires (also untested), old points complete with plate that didn't seem too bad, but OEM points plate was still available, so I bought it and didn't test the old one. I even have all the old head components as I got all new valves, springs, keepers, retainers, etc. Internal engine chains, transmission bearings (though, while they feel fine, they were pulled, so they may have experienced side load during removal)

Tons more, all worn as you'd expect from being...well, old...but I'd gladly offer any of it up for shipping cost (plus a couple bucks for packaging) to the community, but is anyone interested? Should I instead keep some things for spares for my bike? Is most of it just trash?

There is a sub-forum for Free Stuff, look for it in the list of Forums by For Sale, I am sure the parts will go to a good home. There was a fellow looking for parts to help a member get a bike running a while back, not sure if he got everything or not...

On a Saturday,  one week before I was to leave for the SOCC reunion , i realized the cylinders I had sent out to be honed... we're not going to work. So Ibhad to find a set of standard bore and fast.
I started measuring up cylinder after cylinderin my storage unit they all had taper.
Then I remember the set on my display motor.. they looked bad but I knew were sort of lows hours.
They looked like he'll all the fins smashed off on one end.

It didnt take me long to make the choice... saved the day, and i made it to the reunion.

 Sparevsaved parts saved the day....again

Very admirable. There are many members that could use some of your take-offs. I built a second bike from my take-offs so they do have usefulness.

I fon't have a 78 K but the one thing that jumped out at me otherwise was the valve springs. Your model had the strongest 750 springs Honda made. They would be good for someone wanting to upgrade to a mild performance cam or just to build an engine.

If you ride your bike, it is always good to have spares.
If it works good, it looks good...

If you ride your bike, it is always good to have spares.

I ride it, but it's far from my main ride -- I have a truck and 2 bikes that are all more modern and always reliable, so it's strictly for pleasure. That's why I went to such great expense to restore it, while it's in my possession it will always look brand new, and it will admittedly live an easy life. Only thing it will ever need is wear parts, and I don't mind buying them new at the time, and riding a different bike in the meantime.

I have new spares, like bulbs, oil filters, etc., that I'll of course keep, I'd just rather help the community than have this take up space. I'm in the process of minimizing, so now's the perfect time to give it all away.

When I'm done cleaning the office of all the take-offs this weekend or next, I'll post a thread in the free stuff area. Don't need to make any money on it, but wouldn't mind a beer or 12 when I'm packing things :P. Glad to hear people are interested though, I'd feel pretty guilty just chucking it all -- heck I'd probably end up taking it to the local bike wrecker's just so it doesn't go to waste.

Btw, that is a nice gesture, for sure. Too bad shipping south is a pita.
If that becomes a problem, I may be interested in the whole lump, and can pay some cash to boot.
.. being in Canada may make it easier.
