Topic: HELP! Need Identification of Part

Hi guys,

Im just about done with my rebuild and when i was wrapping up last night after putting the carb cables on and starting on putting it on the carb boots I found this part. I think it might be part of the carbs but I havent seen anywhere it would go. Any help would be great.

 What year and model of bike ? Looks a little like those throttle cable repair ends you can use if the fitting breaks off the end of the cable but most do not have the hex end. Hmmmm.

That is definitely a cable end, but it is also not anything that was stock to a SOHC4. I think Eric has it right, it was probably intended to be a temporary fix for a throttle cable that lost an end.

The cable fits in the slot and the hex end keeps it from twisting while you use a screw driver to tighten the clamping screw.

Some people carry them gets you out if a jam. It may have been fastened into an empty hole son it is always there.
 Ie, I used to always carry a spare master link back in the day,  clipped over my clutch cable where it exits the clutch housing on a 750.
