RC race bike in Texas Hill Country Motorhead Museam
« on: March 19, 2018, 06:50:34 AM »
My buddy visited a bike museum last weekend and was showing me the pics when 1 bike really stood out, it's a RC double engine race bike.

Does anybody know anything about this bike? Wondering how they got it??

I plan to go there next month as I'll be at a car show in the town of Burnet, TX.

Our family cannot confirm that bike is the real deal...does not mean it's not...but only papers work can prove otherwise.

Thanks for your reply, Russ.   I plan to be at the museums Grand Opening on April 14th, I'm gonna track down the owner and ask a few questions about the bike.

Hmm, I might have to ride out to Burnet soon.
Do you have a copy of the Honda Shop Manual or Parts List for your bike? Get one here:

Hello everyone! Thanks for the interest in our Museum, we look forward to meeting you all. The bike was  purchased from our good friend Ron Carbajal, who had the bike for years.  I bet you are all familiar with good old Ron! The purchaser is graciously allowing us to display it in our collection.

Sorry, spell check for some reason converted Ron's last name! The bike was purchased from our friend Ron Carbaugh, currently living in Kerrville, TX,  who worked for Honda in sales, service and with the Honda race team.

The double engine bikes always fascinated me. I'd love to build one but I'm not willing/able to commit the resources needed. As I watch the triple restoration thread I can see how many things were custom built and extremely modified. W0W!

Hi HC, thanks for chiming in, plan to be at your museum for the Grand Opening on April 14th.

I do not know Ron Carbaugh.
Did you receive any paperwork to confirm the bike is indeed a Russ Collins race bike?
Forum member Sorcerer, who posted above, is Russ Jr and stated paperwork would be the only way to verify.

Looking forward to meeting you.
