Just started CB750K8 Street tracker project (excited!)
« on: April 01, 2018, 07:33:26 PM »
Just joined this site so Hi! I've owned dozens of motorcycles (including a K1 long ago) and have always wanted to do a frame up SOHC project bike. A couple of months ago a friend of mine sold me his forgotten and abandoned old CB for 75 bucks so since yesterday I've invested about 6 hours in taking this scooter down to the profile it will soon wear! Actually it was quite fun removing all the OEM stuff and watching the scooter get smaller and lighter almost instantly. Next, the motor will go to my race shop friend for testing and rebuild (if not 836 now, then later, the bike has 18k original miles). The frame will then get pretty heavily adjusted (tabs, rear subframe area, etc.) then powdercoated gloss black. Step by step, I so enjoy this! Anyways, I'll post pics as things happen, meanwhile, these pics are today's transformation from a rigid strut POS to the basic future profile.
