Another CB400f Project//With pix
« on: April 12, 2018, 04:07:53 AM »
This '76 popped up on CL yesterday for a very good price. (sorry about the photo the seller took the detailed pictures down). First step will be to get it mechanically good then decide about cosmetics. Will be picking the bike up tomorrow and will post better photos. The 400 is off in the distance.....

Pretty complete, has pods with no airbox. Needs mirrors. Shouldn't be too hard to get running (it ran when parked about 1.5 years ago) kept inside and Colorado dry air does not contribute to corrosion. I was able to kick the bike through so it is not frozen. Non-stock muffler. For the price I couldn't turn it down.

Is that a rickman fairing on the silver yamaha? If so you should pick it up for me!

Jake- I will ask him when I go over tomorrow. That is the only bike his price seems high on.

4/15/18-Well the bike is home (see photos) and it is going to be some work to get it up and running (Hondaman I will be calling you), but it only has ~14,000 miles on it. First job is to get starting system working correctly. Pressing starter button gets the solenoid to click, jumping the solenoid gets the starter turning over very slowly. New solenoid and starter switch assembly ordered. Hopefully that fixes the issues and then I need to get the carbs cleaned and rebuilt...and then....
