On my CB750, I never had a gas tank lock - that long bar latch that was used on the DOHC bikes.

So, just for grins I picked one up, and as my luck would have it - I have a key that fits the lock.
Problem is - the holes for the mounting screws are essentially destroyed at this point from rust. Is it possible to still mount this locking latch with the holes in their present state? The mounting screws are pretty small.
