New race project.
« on: May 09, 2018, 08:20:18 PM »
I decided to pick up an old race bike, that was buried in a garage under 38 years of dirt and grime, and after cleaning it up I found a pair clean Koni's, D.I.D rims, and an ignition I've never seen in person. It's a Martek 440. This bike has been like opening racing time capsule.

It was on Craigslist. I actually posted about it on here before i bought it. A lot of people saying it was too much $$$, but it had a really neat story and I felt it needed to see the track again. The guy dropped it off at my house with some spares and memorabilia for $1300. Now I just need to find some barrels and I start putting back together.

What race org you going to ride in? AHRMA has a few places it would fit in.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

That reminds me... I need to call those guys back. I was speaking with someone about trying to get things with the AHRMA going again in Colorado, but I got tied up with moving. At the very least I'd like to take it to some lapping days. I need an excuse to get my suit dirty. It's been sitting ever since I sold my 675. Did I mention the bike was a one owner? I've got all the original paper work, original tool kit, owners manual in the plastic, and some of those neat little coupon book sized Honda service booklets from the dealer.

It seems to be. I do, however, have a used Yoshi 466 kit headed my way from Japan. It included the block and pistons so I pulled the trigger. I also have a couple of used Yoshi headers on the way. I'm not sure if I'm going to use any of it or put it up for sale, but I figured "why not?" They seem to be harder and harder to find these days.
