First bike question
« on: May 28, 2018, 06:48:17 PM »
Hi everyone new here and to road bikes I have a 1974 honda cb750k I tore down completely when I got it it had transmission issues I replaced gears and shift drum and shift forks. Now putting everything back together when I put the shifter and shift setup on it’ll shift down into first, up into second and then shifting into third it wants to suck the shift drum into the engine...

My question is do I have a shift fork out of place or the shift drum timed wrong or what could be it?

Thank you in advance

The neutral switch on the bottom of the engine is what keeps the drum from moving sideways. The end fits into a groove in the drum when it's installed properly.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
