Topic: High rise clip-ons for stock CB550 top bridge

I really like the look of clip ons but don't want the hunched over riding stance, so im looking for some high rise clip ons that will fit on a stock CB550 top bridge.  Does anyone know of any? 

Most ive looked at wont have the clearance to get around the outer pinch bolts.  I was hoping the Tarozzi ones would work, but Dimecity say there's on half an inch between the outside of the fork leg and the riser bracket, which I dont think is enough.  The Apex ones look like they would work, but they are way expensive.

Actually, just found this photo of them on a 400F, so maybe they would be OK.  The clearance needed for this top triple tree doesnt look too different from my 77 CB550.

If you're swapping to clip-ons, then also swap your top clamp. Use a style with internal pinches, and no riser base. Cleans everything up, and solves your clearance issues.

 Run CB750 forks and push them up through the top triple. The 750 forks are longer and you can run the clip-on's on top of the clamp and keep stock 550 front end geometry.

Yeah that might be the best option.  I was hoping to keep the original one though as I quite like it and was going to use the handle bar clips to mount a plate on.

Nice solution... However ive just had my 550 forks hard chromed so will have to find something that fits what I have..!

Then have them drill the top clamp for riser blocks for your "plate".

Or, have them inlet it for your idiot lights to alleviate the "plate". Like this as an example:

I ran those Tarozzi high rise clip ons and would tell you to not do it. They do not clear that clamp and will sit quite low and you lose the rise. I also don’t think they are too attractive either. You can certainly run another top clamp but I also liked how mine looked (I polished it). I ended up running Woodcraft clip ons and am very happy. I have them up against the bottom of the top clamp and they are effectively a tad higher than my Tarozzis were and they look much nicer.
