cb750 points wires?!
« on: July 30, 2018, 05:12:36 AM »
goodmorning everyone!

so as seen in this picture, these two wires coming form the points side are in rough shape.. ive tried to find replacements but everytime i search arond the internet it gives me the surrounding points parts, not this specific wiring with the mesh housing..

it seems like the yellow and blue wires themselves are in fine shape, the mesh material wrapping is what is bothering me obviously..

what can i do?
worst case i electrical tape the whole temporarily until its all mounted and the bike runs and have shop fix it.

Put up an add in the wanted section of the forum and see if a generous member has a good one sitting in a box from a scrap engine. Maybe someone will respond on this thread.

Honestly, I'd just cut away the existing wrap, slip a large piece of heat shrink over them, and seal them that way, unless you really need to match the OEM aesthetics.

If the wires are good you can replace the sleeving. What color and/or style do you want?

https://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-cable-sleeving/=1dxsbvt

Also, it looks like the points plate assembly comes with new wires:
