ok what to keep

ok people i have a 1975 750ss a 1976 750ss a 78 750ss a 74 750k all in need of work
the 74k needs full restore
the 75ss needs a full restore
the 76ss needs restore
the 78 needs engine resealed and tank paint

Which one do i keep?

i am going to do all of them but probably keep one

oh i also have a 78 hondamatic for sale

my addiction is bad, i know

what yee say?

I’m in CT and wish I could take something off your hands. Ufortuneatly I am in the same boat, too many many projects and too little time. I would keep one of the Super Sports and restore it. They are great looking bikes and not many nice restos around.
I like poetry, long walks on the beach, and poking at dead things with a stick.

Yep- I would keep either the 75 or 76 F and the 1974 K bike. You will probably find the K bike will be easier to get cheaper parts for since there was a longer run of that series.

 I'm a 75/76SS fan but I can't see them. Build your keeper first, then as each one gets done, re-evaluate.

If the '75 is a really early example it will likely be worth more later on than any of the others. The K will be easiest to get extra parts for so for me it would be one of those 2.

what about the 78ss? its in great original shape with dual front discs and i believe it had more head rake for better stability

there is not much interest in the later 750 super sports i guess

the 75ss is a basket case with lotsa parts to be sourced so it will take a while and the 74k (probably my favorite) needs a full teardown and rebuild so another long haul project. i had one back in 1978 so it has some connection with me being my first bike

im going to take the motor out of the 78ss today for a reseal and paint so when the 78hondamatic sells ill have something to ride

Well, the 78SS is known for eating valve guides at around 25 - 30 000 miles.  Meaning complete head rebuild is needed replacing guides, valves and cutting valve seats.

Just something to be aware of.

I done that and combined 73K frame and 78SS engine, wheels and brakes to build Red, see my signature.

I would keep the 78ss and the 74k...the 78ss because it flat out performs better than any other model cb750, power, brakes, handling.  Keep the 74 because it's the most iconic of what you have and will contrast with the 78ss
