Sailor stuck in the desert!
« on: August 18, 2018, 02:04:36 PM »
Hey guys I just bought my 1981 CB650 a little while ago while I'm stationed here in El Centro, CA! I definitely would appreciate any help since I'm pretty much trying to rebuild everything on the bike just as a learning experience! Right now I'm having a little trouble while trying to install LED turn signals and taillights! Any help is welcome! Thanks!

Welcome from Lake Superior,

One hint with LED flashers.  You have to use a relay designed for LEDs.

I bought one online but it only ends up working when I wire in the stock turn signals along with the aftermarket LED ones. It begins to hyperflash so I'm guessing it's not sending proper voltage that way.

Sounds like you bought the wrong one, they sold you the wrong flasher / not a true LED compatible flasher...  Tridon makes one a LED03. They make voltage monitored versions and non-monitored...

You may also try unplugging the turn beeper.  I found the things feeds both directions.
