Yeah, as a long time owner of Chevy & GMC vans, (I've had 4, my first was a '77 shorty & my current is a 2008 express) I can say it ain't easy getting them to do a burnout. Especially a fully loaded conversion. My '77 shorty was the only one I could get to do a burnout. I think my current one has the power, but it's strapped with traction & stability control.   :P

your sh!t is too new.

my buddy had a '68 G10 with a 230 and 3 speed that would do burnouts all day with skinny tires.

put fat tires on and pop the clutch a couple times and it would bounce the front end a foot off the ground.

his was Army green - think he paid $300 at the phone company sale.

ok I have a quick question, but I don't really want to make a whole new thread or anything. (lazy...)
On my 350's left crank case cover (over the front sprocket, shifter etc) there's a bolt hole that's all stripped out.  I drilled it out, ran the tap, and tried helicoiling it.  For whatever reason, the helicoil always gets real hard to turn by the end and then snaps, with a couple threads still exposed.  This is really chapping my ass because I did this three times.  After the helicoil tab breaks off, I end up carefully winding the thing out and trying again.  Part of the problem is that the hole is sunk 1/2" deep, because a round metal sort of dowel fits in there around the bolt (sort of, anyway) so this narrow depression all around the hole makes it impossible for me to use the little keyed metal implement that supposedly pushes on the helicoil insert and makes it go into the newly-created threads.  I'm getting pissed and hoping that I don't have to just go ahead and drill it a little bigger and use a bigger bolt, like an m8 maybe.  (or could I fit an m8 in the tapped threads for an m6 1.0 helicoil? M6/1.0 is the ID, but what's the OD?) I guess it wouldn't matter if I had to go up a size, because it doesn't have to match, and I have a little metal around the sides but I don't wanna overdo it and #$%* up the case.

if it isn't breaking because the threads aren't deep enough or some such...

file a step on the end of a bolt to look like the short plastic gizmo and install with that.

an m7x1 bolt might be close to the helicoil size.

so my lunch break was over and I go back out to the tech area and my phone rings with the other # that's been bugging me the same way. this one is a chick from india. The other one is a guy from india. So I answer and she seems surprised. Then she goes into a shpeal about how she's from my credit card company and needs me to verify a few things from my account so I can get $50 of free stuff... blah, blah, blah... so I go off on her, right in front of my coworker/lead tech and then hung up on her. I'm going to report both tomorrow to the cell company and see what can be done. I'm sick of this #$%* and want them investigated. The 2nd # is 603-214-3330.

I'd tell you all the spam the hell out of them but then they would have your # too and probably bug the hell out of you.  >:( >:(
