Hey, she was awarded a sum that will allow her to buy a new Toyota, not a toy Yoda.:

USA Today: Waitress Settles Suit

Who's laughing now?

In my never humble opinion, if they promised a "Toyota," they've gotta deliver on one. When you make a business promise, you don't get to say "April Fools."

Actually I agree with you on that one, Burmashave, it reminds me of a similar incident here in the UK about 5-6 years ago. A radio station up in Bolton announced a quiz and the person that called in with the correct answer would win a sports car. This lady won the competition and she was sent a toy sports car (corgi - remember those?). She sued and the judge agreed with her and ordered the radio station to buy her a sports car. They went bust.
I would be real pissed if my boss promised me a valuable prize for doing extra work and then reneged on his promise. Except I wouldn't sue him. Just kick his backside black and blue.

'Tis true. I'll guarantee that she wasn't the only employee fooled. Would anyone work harder for a bonus of a toy yoda? Just because she works at Hooters doesn't mean that she shouldn't receive the same respect we all do. And for those who disagree, I'd like to be your boss. Payday? April Fools! ;-)

I'm glad you said that, 'cos I was sorely tempted once when I was a nerdy little kid.

Why collect stamps?  They supposed to be used!

At least that's what I always did...

I love Mr. Mercury, but I want to break his jaw and correct his overbite.  It is similar to the way I want to break Kiera Knightly's jaw and correct her underbite.  But I don't like Kiera nearly as much as I like Freddy.

Furthermore, have any of you tried a variety of chips (that's potato chips, not fries, you bloody redcoats) by Kettle Brand called Cheddar Beer?  They are fantastic!  I would highly recommend them.  Cheddary and beery.  mmmmm.
